How to implement this add on

1. Copy all the fields from the table Log_CopyTheseFields and paste them into the table where you want to add the record logging.

2. Drag The View Record Log button onto a layout with the same table occurrence with the fields. This is used to view the log. The log will capture all changes to the record, not just changes on the layout with the button.

3. The record log can be added to as many fields as you want! Just make sure the fields are added to each table you want to track.

Additional Information

• This add on tracks changes made on the record level. Changes made using Import records or Replace Field Contents will not be logged. Import records will create a log record if the important creates a new record, but not if the import is merely updating an existing record.

• Log records are created for each time the record is committed. If a user or script commits a record multiple times while editing the record, each commit will have it’s own log record.

• The log only tracks modifications to the current table. If related records in a portal are modified, those changes will not be tracked unless the portal table occurrence also has record logging set up.

• Do not change the names of the fields in Log_CopyTheseFields or your table names.
