You.com: The new Google?
What’s You.com? The new Google with a side of ChatGPT.
You.com is a search engine that was launched in November of 2021, giving users a new interface with a focus on privacy, results, and time.
Benefits of You.com
Privacy - The only data stored is used to improve your searches. Data is not sold or provided to third parties.
Customized - You.com gives you the ability to have control over your preferences, such as which websites you want to see in your results. With the combination of AI and your preferences, the results will continuously improve over time.
Summarized - The interface presents websites and sources as “Apps” and regular results to view answers at a glance, look further into specific findings, or take direct action from a search result. The interface has both vertical and horizontal scroll to view more results with fewer clicks.
Mode Options - Personal and private modes available. Private mode means zero data collection, while personal mode means allowing their AI to help find the best results and letting you customize apps and sources you want to see. Whichever mode you choose, You.com never sells your data, does not track your use on the internet, and does not have cookies.
Apps - You.com provides access to a variety of apps such as YouCode, YouWrite, YouImagine, and more.
YouCode: search engine specifically designed for developers, providing AI powered code generators (shown in the photo below).
YouWrite: AI powered writing for email, blogs, social media, and more. And it even lets you pick from a range of tones including neutral, friendly, professional, witty, or persuasive.
YouImagine: an AI image generator similar to DALL-E 2.
YouChat - The latest addition to You.com is their new Chat feature which is very similar to ChatGPT, discussed in a previous blog. YouChat is provided to answer general questions and have human-like conversations.
Conclusion
We’re excited to dive deeper into how the apps and AI easily integrate with a search engine and the growth of You.com as the AI continuously improves. While there’s still some learning to be done with this AI-powered search engine, it goes to show how artificial intelligence is growing and will only continue to grow in 2023 and beyond.
